Chief Executive Officer
Carolyn was appointed Chief Executive Officer in February 2016. Carolyn is a passionate advocate for the rights of women and children. Prior to joining Hamlin she worked for the United Nations for twelve years most recently with the UN Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women and before that with UN Women, and UNICEF.
Chief Financial and Operations Officer
Alex Roberts is our multi-talented Chief Financial and Operations Officer and Company Secretary. He is a qualified chartered accountant with a background in auditing. Alex was a senior manager in the corporate world before joining Team Hamlin. He feels privileged to utilise his skill sets for a good cause.
Tanya joined Team Hamlin in 2012 and is responsible for our retail project – sourcing and managing the sale of ethical gifts from across Africa through our gift shop and online store. She has the great privilege of managing our team of committed volunteers who give generously of their time to support our retail and fundraising work. Tanya also works closely with our supporters who wish to leave a bequest.
Since 2015, Emily has led our communications strategy as our Communications Coordinator. Em works closely with Jo on our fundraising campaigns. She manages our digital marketing, including social media channels and website. Em’s Fine Art background has come in handy, as she is also our in-house graphic designer. She is passionate about international development and women’s health.
Direct Marketing Strategist
Jo is responsible for the strategic direction of our marketing campaigns. She joined us in late 2016 with more than 15 years of Direct Marketing experience under her belt. Jo brings a wealth of knowledge, having worked for a wide range of organisations including financial institutions and other not for profits. She loves being part of such a fantastic cause – and with three sons at home, she also enjoys the calm of the Hamlin office.
Sussi is our Database Officer and works to ensure the integrity and accuracy of our database. Sussi joined the team in 2016. She supports the fundraising team and our wonderful donors alike. Sussi has a law degree and worked for the UN in The Hague for
three years. Prior to this, she worked in childcare, the hospitality industry and has studied social work, social pedagogics and sociology.
Donor Relations Coordinator
Madeleine started with Team Hamlin as an intern in 2016 and in 2017 has joined us as our Donor Relations Coordinator. She is the first point of contact for supporters and works very closely with Sussi in managing our database. Maddy’s attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills makes her a real asset to Team Hamlin.
Trusts & Foundations Manager
Helen joined the Hamlin team in June 2018 and is responsible for managing our relationships with Trusts and Foundations. Over the last 15 years, Helen has worked in various marketing and fundraising roles for not-for-profits including UNICEF, The Shepherd Centre and Redkite. She is inspired by the important work of the Foundation and is enjoying a return to work after time out looking after her two young children.
