Dr. Barbara Kwast’s visit to HFE

Midwife examining patient

Dr Barbara Kwast, one of Catherine’s dearest friends and colleagues, visited Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia’s Addis Ababa Hospital recently.

From The Netherlands, Barbara remains a pioneer of the global maternal health movement. An epidemiologist, midwife and educator, her research on the causes of maternal deaths has contributed to reducing the maternal mortality rates around the world.

Barbara was instrumental in the establishment of the Hamlin College of Midwives and has made an extraordinary impact on maternal health in Ethiopia.

Thank you Barbara!
