Exciting expansion of the Hamlin College of Midwives

The Hamlin College of Midwives is undergoing a major expansion to include a new lecture hall, laboratory, classrooms, library, cafe and dormitory.

These new spaces are urgently needed to cater for the increasing numbers of BSc and MSc midwifery students attending the College.

The Hamlin College of Midwives is a centre of excellence for the training of midwives in Ethiopia. Each student undertakes a four-year Bachelor of Science degree in Midwifery and commits to working as a Hamlin Midwife for a minimum of four years following their graduation.

Students are deployed back to their local areas to work in Hamlin-supported midwifery clinics, where their skills are desperately needed. This is a cornerstone of Catherine’s vision – ensuring that women in Ethiopia have access to quality healthcare to prevent fistula injuries in the first place.

Each student is on a full Hamlin scholarship, funded by generous donors like you.
