Restoring more women’s lives in Tigray

Your incredible support of our second Raise2Restore Giving Day on 31 August 2023 enabled us to buy urgently needed medical equipment and supplies for Hamlin’s Mekele Fistula Hospital in the Tigray region.

As you’ll recall, the Mekele hospital was firstly closed then forced to provide care at a severely reduced rate during the civil war and much of the equipment fell into disrepair.

Through your generosity, the equipment and supplies needed to open a second operating theatre have now been delivered, plus a range of other urgently needed apparatus and resources.

This means Hamlin’s dedicated surgeons are performing life-changing fistula repair surgery on double the number of women.

Our heartfelt thanks for helping restore the health and dignity of women in the Tigray region so they can start their lives anew.
