Support for long-term patients

At Desta Mender, our residential village for long-term patients, each woman receives ongoing medical care and is empowered with the support they need to lead happy and active lives when they return home.

The women here learn income-generating skills in areas such as hospitality, agriculture and handicrafts. This year, over 2,220 patients were enrolled in vocation training and education classes at Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia.

You can purchase scarves and paper bead necklaces made by the patients from our online gift store at store.hamlin.org.au
