This year I am supporting Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation’s Raise2Restore Giving Day, and I hope you can help.

An obstetric fistula is one of the worst things a woman can go through. Now imagine going through it during a war.

Every dollar I raise will help Hamlin provide new medical equipment and medication for a 2nd operating room at the Hamlin Mekele Fistula Hospital, which was forced to close during the civil war.

The hospital has now re-opened but is struggling to treat an enormous backlog of patients who are in desperate need of surgery. Outdated medical equipment and expired medication also need to be replaced urgently.

I hope you will support my fundraising efforts so that together, we can help the women of Tigray who are suffering horrific childbirth injuries.

Australian obstetrician and gynecologist Dr Catherine Hamlin devoted her life to Ethiopian women living with obstetric fistula, giving them love, hope, and the opportunity to regain their lives.

I am so proud to be one of many Australians working towards making Dr Catherine’s vision of a Fistula-Free Ethiopia a reality.
