Your Supporter Survey Results!

Thank you to all our supporters who were so generous with their time and completed our recent survey. We are thrilled to share with you some key takeaways from the survey.

Firstly, 75% of you said that you were very likely to recommend Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation as a charity worthy of support to a friend looking to make a charitable donation. We are so pleased that supporters are eager to share with their friends our passion for the women of Ethiopia and invite them to join the fight to eradicate obstetric fistula forever.

The terrible situation that women with fistula face in Ethiopia is the major motivation for most respondents supporting the Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation. Many survey respondents also nominated Dr Catherine’s remarkable personal story as the primary reason for their support. At the Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation we continue to find inspiration in Catherine’s extraordinary vision and unequivocal dedication to the women of Ethiopia. We are honoured to continue working towards achieving her dream of eradicating obstetric fistula forever.

95% of survey respondents agreed that they are very passionate about our work and 96% agreed that we are making great progress.

In addition, survey respondents told us that the most important difference that they want their donations to go towards is restoring health and dignity to fistula patients. We couldn’t agree more! Restoring the health and dignity of fistula patients in Ethiopia is our primary focus. In fact, 99% of survey respondents stated that they understand the goals and purpose of our foundation.

Supporters have also told us that in the future they would like the Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation to invest in training and skills so that more midwives can provide a wider range of support to women in Ethiopia. Some supporters have indicated that they would love to donate but don’t have sufficient funds. We absolutely appreciate this and want our supporters to know that there are many other ways to help. Have you considered visiting the Hamlin Gift Shop or becoming a Hamlin volunteer?

Finally, the survey results have indicated to us that supporters of Hamlin like to be kept in the loop about progress that is being made in Ethiopia. 55% preferred reading about women whose lives have been changed whilst 43% preferred seeing facts and figures on the progress being made. We will strive to keep our loyal supporters updated with both stories from Ethiopia and factual reports.
