Sarah runs the world for Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia

Running one marathon is impressive. Running seven is incredible. Running seven in seven days on seven continents is almost inconceivable.

In January 2016, Sarah Ames successfully completed this amazing physical feat as part of the World Marathon Challenge. She overcame jet lag, fatigue and huge temperature fluctuations all to raise much needed funds for Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia.

The challenge started in Antarctica followed by Chile, the United States, Spain, Morocco, United Arab Emirates and finally Sydney, Australia.

Sarah said it was meeting Dr Catherine Hamlin on a trip to Ethiopia that inspired her to join the challenge.

“Her dedication to help women with obstetric fistula is a great inspiration to me to support those who with a little bit of help get their dignity, health and lives back. I feel very grateful to be able to run in the name of Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia and to raise awareness and much needed funds for continuous medical care and work on eradicating an entirely preventable injury.”

We would like to say a huge thank you and congratulations to Sarah. What a legend!!
